Photographs of Cabo Polonio village located in the south-east of Uruguay in the heart of a protected area (“National Park of Cabo Polonio”), where live many sea lions. To get there, you have to take a long path through the dunes and the forest by giant 4×4 truck which passes only twice a day. On the spot, there is no electricity (except for the lighthouse) and water is scarce. These four pictures were taken during low season, when the village has only a few tens of inhabitants, but in summer this bucolic village has to face big logistical and ecological problems with the presence of 2000 tourists per day !
